About Synergia

Synergia’s name incorporates the concepts of joint work and cooperative action, a joining of energies and synthesis beyond the reach of individuals acting in isolation – the creation of effective, intentional, combined systems of action.

Taking a ‘large and long’ view it is possible to see life, humanity and our social structures as having a direction towards more complex, more richly articulated living systems with the potential for greater capability and resilience. Our collective challenge is that as the complexity grows our ability to perceive, understand and act effectively within that complexity must also develop.

As individuals we experience this challenge when we confront the unexpected consequences of our actions or struggle with making changes in the personal, social or working structures of our lives. We see Synergia’s focus on ‘systemic action’ as part of an emerging stream of concepts and methods that collectively represents a step change in capability.

To the outside world we represent this step change as organisational designers, researchers and evaluators, using systems thinking and organisational learning theory as foundations to enable people to:

1. Design – develop the capacity to intentionally change for the better
2. Realise - the ability to achieve that intent in the real world
3. Sustain – maintain, learn, adapt and renew
